Fees and Rebates

For clients referred by their GP or self-referred, a standard 51 minute session fee is $250.

Clients who have a Mental Health Care Plan and are referred by a doctor are able to claim a Medicare rebate of $145.25 for up to 10 consultations a year (Jan-Dec). Reports to your doctor are a Medicare requirement.

If you have private health cover you may be eligible for a rebate, without a doctor’s referral. However, you cannot claim from both Medicare and your Health Fund at the same time. Contact your fund for information on clinical psychology rebates.

NDIS clients accepted with Plan Managed or Self-Managed funding. Please note the same fee applies as private or GP referred clients.

For clients referred by and funded by third-parties, the fee is the current recommended fee from the APS or consistent with legislation for government funders. Please contact me for further information.

Fees for 75 minute sessions are $375

Fees for out-of-office consultations available on request.

Insurance claims and workers compensation

Individuals may also be able to have part or all of their fees paid by an insurance company if they have an accepted claim.

Self-referral

People may refer themselves simply by phoning or emailing Sunset Psychology. Those who attend privately may also be eligible to claim under their private health care fund. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider for details.

Cancellation Policy

An SMS reminder will be sent 72 hours prior to your appointments. If you are unable to attend this appointment, you would need to provide 48 hours’ notice (within business days) to reschedule by sending a text or calling 0402 988 579. If you are unable to give 48 hours’ notice (within business days) a late cancellation or failure to attend fee for the total amount of your appointment cost will apply. No Medicare rebate can be claimed for this cancellation fee.
Failure to give adequate notice prevents me from booking another person who may require psychological care into this appointment.
